Neil Simon’s most personal play, THE DINNER PARTY is a humorous yet
profound examination of the heart of marriage. The story is about
coupling and uncoupling and the complicated emotions experienced by
three couples mysteriously invited to the same posh Parisian dinner
party.
The play has a ‘Clue’ quality to it which leaves you wondering who sent
the invitation and why they’re there.
THE DINNER PARTY is Neil Simon’s 31st play. Simon has enjoyed robust
success; some of his more notable hits are, BAREFOOT IN THE PARK, THE
ODD COUPLE, THE SUNSHINE BOYS, BRIGHTON BEACH MEMOIRS, BROADWAY BOUND
and LOST IN YONKERS which earned the author the Pulitzer Prize and a
second Tony Award.
John Ritter and Henry Winkler starred in the wildly successful Kennedy
Center production and also on Broadway.
